Meet your Doctor
What led you to become a doctor or choose your focus of medicine?
I have always loved science and learning about the human body. I also enjoy helping people.
What about your line of work do you find most rewarding and why?
As a primary care physician, I get to build long-term relationships with my patients. I enjoy personalizing my care for each patient based on their own unique goals.
What is something about you that only your patients would know?
I always ensure that my patients have their questions answered and that they play an active role in making decisions about their medical care.
What’s your proudest moment as a doctor?
During residency, I took care of a very sick newborn. For a period of time, it was unclear what the outcome would be for this infant. I was later able to meet this infant who had become a happy and healthy toddler. It is wonderful to know that he has a bright future ahead. I will never forget what I learned while caring for this child and his family during those early days of his life.
In your opinion, what’s the most important factor in a doctor-patient relationship?
Honest and open communication is important. I welcome and encourage my patients to ask questions. I understand that each person is unique and has different perspectives and philosophies regarding their health and medical care.
What can a patient expect when they have you as a doctor?
Compassionate, high quality patient care.
What are your top priorities with every patient you see?
I want patients to feel confident about their medical care and that they are treated with compassion and respect. I want them to know that their health and safety are my top priority.
Describe one of the top ways you ensure each patient receives the quality, personal health care he/she deserves.
I think this starts by listening to the patient and understanding their concerns and goals.
Is there anything more or extra you would like prospective patients to know about you?
As an internal medicine and pediatrics physician, I can take care of the entire family from infants to grandparents.
Do you have any specific medical interests?
As a primary care physician, I enjoy a little bit of everything. I enjoy doing routine physicals and preventative health visits for immunizations and cancer screening. I also enjoy taking care of patients with asthma, COPD, heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, smoking cessations, and many other medical conditions.
