Meet your Doctor
What led you to become a doctor or choose your focus of medicine?
My father passed away when I was 8, I realized during that experience, I wanted to become a doctor so I could help people acheive their highest quality of life. God determines quantity of life, but I can help with quality.
What about your line of work do you find most rewarding and why?
I believe that as a physician I need to take care of the "whole" person. Each aspect (physical, spiritual, emotional) is equally important and for a person to find true peace he/she needs to care for each of them. My role as their physician is to help them achieve that balance.
What is something about you that only your patients would know?
I do not have a clock or phone in the exam room, and I do not wear a watch or beeper into the exam room. Patients know that when I am in the room with them, there are no dstractions and they are what is most important.
How would a patient describe you?
I have been told by patients that I am knowledgeable and caring, but also down-to-earth. And that they feel comfortable discussing any issue with me.
In your opinion, what’s the most important factor in a doctor-patient relationship?
TRUST. Patients can trust I will do everything possible to provide the highest quality of care for them. Also I want them to be comfortable to trust me with all their concerns so I can address them.
What are your top priorities for every patient you see?
My top priority with each patient is to address the concern that brought them to see me that day and have them leave my office with the satisfaction that they were heard and together we have addressed their concern. I also want to make sure that my patient is up-to-date on his or her preventive care. As the saying goes, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
Patient Stories
Dr.Vicki Roy is one of the best Dr.s I have ever had in my life. I have been seen by about 10-15 doctors in my 36 years. She puts so much effort into what she does it is unreal. I am so proud to have her as a my main doctor. She has sent me to all kinds of doctors to try and establish what is really going on in my body. I have discovered stuff that is bad for me and scheduled a surgery for one of them next week. If I could award her an award for great bedside manor and treatment I would. She is always concerned about my health and got me on the righteous path. Thank you Dr. Vicki Roy.
