Geriatrics is the specialized branch of medicine focusing on health promotion and diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases and disabilities in aging seniors.

What is a Geriatrician?

A geriatrician, or geriatric physician, is a medical doctor that has been specially trained in the aging process. Geriatricians have advanced education and expertise in treating and diagnosing health problems elderly patients commonly face – such as diabetes, hypertension, frailty, dementia, incontinence and functional decline. Patients that benefit from geriatric care usually range in age from 65 or older.
